1 review for CS-426 Longline | Hourglass Curve (Orchard Corset)

  1. Patricia M.

From my experience, I would describe the CS-426 from Orchard Corset as a good introductory budget corset for beginners that want to test the waters on corsetting, or for people that might be going for a noticeable-but-natural-looking moderate shaping. Its quality is in good relationship to the price, being a good investment for starters, but by no means an everyday long lasting corset.

Regarding customer service, it’s fast answering and very helpful, offering the size and model that works for the measurements provided. I was recommended CS 426 in size 24 and in fact fitted well. This could be userfull for those new to corsetting. However I would still recommend double-checking with the corset directory calculator because they have been known in other cases for recommending size and model wrongly.

Shipping is also extremely fast. It arrived at destination 24hs after the purschase even with the cheapest economy option, so don’t waste money on that, really. Also, there are always 20% or 15% off coupons aroud, don’t forget to use them!

The corset itself is quite sturdy and thick-feeling (maybe contributing to this was the fact that I choose cotton for durability). It offers a great back support because of this, but on the other hand also restricts movility a bit more than other lighter corsets and can seem a bit bulky when trying to stealth multiple layers. The silhouette features a moderate reduction, with a conical ribcage. I particulary find that it looks quite natural under clothing, but I definetly felt I could go way tighter with a curvier style.

My main concern with this corset (and why i’m rating it three stars instead of four) is it’s early signs of wear and tear. After a two months of almost daily (but not intense) wear the laces broke and had to be replaced, the fabric around the busk started separating and showing the metal, and some seams in the back tore. I understand longevity is not to be expected for a budget corset but still.

Overall, you get what you pay for and this corset is not exception. Would recommend for beginners looking to test how corseting feels like before making a major investment, so do not expect it to last forever. It also has a nice moderate shape.
