tl;dr it’s a decent beginner corset, but the listed rib and hip spring are deceptively large and I wouldn’t recommend for fellow curvy folks looking for a short-torso OTR corset.

This was my first foray into modern corsetry. I have it in the white mesh version, size 22. It was a great “learner” corset, since the price is accessible, the mesh made it an easier transition to get used to an extra layer of clothing in my hot climate, and it was an easy process to season in. Using this corset helped me understand what I liked and didn’t like in the general shaping and silhouette of corset, so that I could make wiser decisions in the future, with more expensive corsets.

However, I’m not sure if I would recommend it to a fellow beginner with a similar body shape to me. I got this “hourglass waspie” style because I have a short torso and fairly curvy figure. My comfortable rib spring at a 4″ waist reduction is is 7″ and hip spring 10″, so I thought that the reported 8″/10″ springs of this corset would suit well. However, after a week or so of seasoning, I realized that the corset is far less curvy than reported. Even after stretching out, the binding at the rib and hip bite into my skin quite severely, when laced down only to a 2″ waist reduction. I’ve measured it a couple of times since seasoning (unfortunately I didn’t think to get an out-of-the-box measurement!), and while the waist tape has stretched about half an inch, the rib spring is still only 5″ and the high hip spring only 7.5″. I don’t know if mine is somehow defective, or if this is standard for the corsets… I wondered if perhaps the rib and hip springs they report are supposed to be the “true” underbust and high hip if the corset were worn like a cincher on a person with a longer torso? Like some sort of “extended” measurement, rather than the actual circumference of the top and bottom of the corset?? But since I have a short torso, my ribs and hips spring out much “sooner”, and thus the curves of the corset are nowhere near enough to accommodate my body shape. My ribcage begins just an inch above my waist, so the front bones of the corset pinch quite painfully, especially since the corset rides up due to being too tight on my hips!

Also, I’m not sure if this is a feature of all corsets made with a similar mesh material, as I don’t own any others, but once it was seasoned in, every end of every bone was pressing quite hard against the outer wall of the boning channels. It looks as if the bones are trying their best to rip out of the corset! This may be because the binding is so taught due to the ill fit on me. Still, I can see that being an issue for people who like their corset to lie smooth under clothing.

Overall, I don’t regret my purchase, and I would say it’s an okay value for price, but I do wish they would be more clear about what the rib and hip spring mean, and what body type the corset is truly intended for.

This was my first corset! (of many :)) I got it in a seasonal color they no longer offer, army green satin, in a size 22. It was a great first corset because it was easy to season and put on, easy to wear during the day, and the price was reasonable for someone trying out corsets. The waist tape has stretched somewhat (I wore it quite a lot!). The back steels by the laces have also somewhat bowed outward in a (), not so much to be worrisome, but more so than any other corset I’ve had with a lot of wear, including those with more dramatic curves and reductions. It’s possible that this particular corset I had was just off a little in construction, but nevertheless it was perfect for me at the time.
